Why CTCA?

The CTCA organization's purpose is to keep the breed pure (i.e. preventing health and disposition issues).  With almost every other breed of dog we find that they have become very prone to a certain health issues, or in some cases, have tempermant issues.  However, this is not the case for Cotons.
In result of having a pure breed, all Coton puppies that are eligible for being bred are required to go through a series of tests* in order to be CTCA certified for example, some of the tests include; testing of the eyes, hips, heart, lungs, forelimb and hindlimb structure and tempermant.  Blood tests include a search for twenty-one individual things, and twelve individual blood cell tests.  These series of tests also include four tests for diseases.  Through these tests, only healthy dogs are bred which result in healthy puppies.
